Bruno Pedras: The Journey from Finance Legacy to Revolutionary Fintech

Born into a family of financial prominence, Bruno Pedras had early exposure to the intricacies of finance, thanks to his grandmother, a director at one of Brazil’s leading banks. With a keen interest in finance, he embarked on a journey to study business in Belgium. In his quest to integrate into a foreign land, he faced challenges in receiving funds from home, a problem many fellow students and immigrants resonated with.

This difficulty planted the seed for a groundbreaking idea: a multi-currency card that simplified overseas transactions, bypassing bureaucracy and inefficiencies. Concurrently, Bruno’s background as a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighter and entrepreneur at “Malicia Team” — his gym promoting social outreach — fortified his values of discipline and social contribution, shaping the ethos of his future venture.

In 2010, Bruno established BT Transfers, with its offshoot Belmoney being incorporated in 2013. Belmoney, now licensed as a payment services institution by the National Bank of Belgium (PSD1), took its first steps toward becoming a disruptor in the finance sector, offering competitive exchange rates to its customers.

Belmoney entered a new phase with the “European Kickoff Expansion” in 2017, broadening its presence across Europe, including stores in Belgium and Luxembourg and agents in France. A year later, the company’s global footprint extended to 120 countries, underlining the credibility of its services.

The year 2019 marked a significant milestone, with Belmoney being granted the PSD2 License by the National Bank of Belgium. This allowed Belmoney to provide payment services throughout the European Union, facilitating efficient transactions and payments worldwide.

With a continuous drive for innovation, Belmoney emerged as a competent FinTech player, significantly enhancing its technology and service suite. Guided by the principles of transparency, simplicity, technology, and diligence, Belmoney now caters to over 180 countries, offering payments, money exchange, and transfer services.

Belmoney represents an innovative, secure, and user-friendly gateway to the financial world. It empowers immigrants to easily connect with their families back home, leveraging advancements in technology and a dedicated workforce to ensure a delightful and safe customer experience.

In a world of traditional financial institutions, Belmoney stands out as a dynamic, modern, and sophisticated entity, offering endless possibilities for global financial transactions. Its commitment to simplifying financial operations and delivering a secure, pleasant experience is a testament to its dedication to customer service. From its roots as a finance company, Belmoney has evolved into a promising FinTech player, redefining the landscape of financial services.
